In our modern and contemporary society gender equality is yet to be achieved and the female body is still oppressed by patriarchal pressures. Feminist performance art introduces a challenging image of the female body, it is distorted, dismembered, digitalized... The female body in feminist art practices intends to find a new body language in order to deconstruct patriarchal codes. This book, portfolio of an artist, follows her journey into her feminist consciousness rising in her performances. It becomes a pamphlet, an expression of a singular voice which calls for women to find their own different voices. She is discovering her own body, her textual language and gradually tries to get rid of patriarchal influence. This book does not only speak to women but also to men as she accuses the diktats which emprison both sexes. She engages us all to rethink our binary gender categories as she smashes them into pieces. Her thinking and her practice are in process and both can interest professional artists, researchers but also art students as an example of a portfolio.
