Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) was developed in 1999, but similar therapy named Morita Therapy had been developed in 1920 by Shoma Morita in Japan. Morita Therapy is effective for Anxiety Disorders and Chronic Depression. It was developed mainly for in-patient treatment, but out-patient Morita therapy has become mainstream in recent years.
