Since the 1980s, digital technologies have intensified and altered photography in several ways. The modern digital camera has been shown to increase photographic productivity, encourage experimentation and creativity, and redefine the boundaries of autonomy in the relationship between subject and photographer. There are dozens of photographers professional as well as amateur in Kashmir who has their own digital cameras. Most publish their work online on social networking sites, blogs, and some even have their own websites. They publish, tag, share, and do every type of promotion of their work. Many of these photographers have won awards for their photographs as well. This book has traced the type of photography being done in Kashmir and the perspective of Kashmiri photographers.
