<p>Families are the training ground for social development. Unfortunately, they often train us to compete with others. Competitive striving disrupts our marriages and life partnerships, parenting, sibling relationships, and intergenerational connection. By exposing these familial competitions, we empower ourselves to find the remedy: cooperative goals. Using insights from twentieth-century theories Alfred Adler, empirical research, fictional case studies, and practical recommendations, this book paints a picture of cooperative family living that trains us for cooperative living in the world. </p>
